The Cozy Hideout
Fifi builds a secret blanket fort with Momo, but when her brother wants to come inside, she learns how sharing can make a cozy spot even better.
Fifi clipped the last corner of the sheet to the chair. "Almost ready, Momo, " she said. Momo wagged his tail, watching the pillows pile up inside the blanket fort.
Her little brother, Leo, toddled over. "Can I come in?" he asked. Fifi crossed her arms. "It's my special fort. There's no room." Momo tilted his head. "What if he could be the dragon lookout?" he whispered.
Fifi thought about it. "Okay, Leo. But you have to promise to be quiet." They lifted the sheet to let him crawl in. As Leo wiggled through, the blanket slipped off one corner with a soft whoosh.
Momo yipped and spun in circles, his tail catching a pillow. The pillow flew up and landed on Leo's head. Fifi laughed. "Maybe we need a bigger fort!" She pulled over another chair and draped the blanket wider.
Inside the bigger fort, Fifi, Leo, and Momo snuggled together. Fifi clicked on a little flashlight. The shadows danced on the sheet walls. Leo pointed at a Momo-shaped shadow and giggled.
Momo curled up between them, his nose twitching in the warm light. Fifi whispered, "This is the best hideout yet." Outside, the afternoon sun sent golden shapes through the blanket, and their fort felt like a secret world.
