The Little Red Hen Story in English with Moral

Once upon a time, in a cozy little farmyard, there lived a little red hen. She stumbled upon some grains of wheat one sunny morning.

"Look what I found! Grains of wheat!" exclaimed the little red hen.

The dog, the cat, and the duck were lounging lazily nearby. The little red hen approached them, hopeful. "Will you help me plant these grains of wheat?"

The dog yawned, stretching out in the sun. "Sorry, I'm too busy sunbathing," he replied.

The cat lazily blinked her eyes. "Planting? Not my thing. I'm busy grooming myself," she said, licking her paw.

The duck flapped its wings. "Planting wheat sounds boring. I'd rather swim in the pond," he quacked.

Undeterred, the little red hen set off to plant the grains of wheat by herself. She worked tirelessly, digging holes and carefully placing each grain in the soil.

Harvesting alone

Weeks passed, and the grains of wheat sprouted into tall stalks. The little red hen surveyed her growing wheat field proudly.

"Who will help me harvest this wheat?" she asked the animals.

The dog rolled onto his back. "Harvesting? Not my thing," he said lazily.

The cat stretched out beside the barn. "I'm too busy napping," she yawned.

The duck waddled over. "I'd rather splash in puddles," he quacked.

Determined, the little red hen harvested the wheat on her own. She swung the scythe with all her might, cutting down the golden stalks one by one.

Journey to the Mill

With a heavy sack of wheat slung over her shoulder, the little red hen returned to the farmyard. She glanced at the animals. "Who will help me take this wheat to the mill?"

The dog scratched behind his ear. "Taking wheat to the mill? Nah, not my thing," he said casually.

The cat stretched lazily. "I'm too busy watching birds," she purred.

The duck flapped its wings. "I'd rather take a nap," he quacked.

Resolute, the little red hen carried the sack of wheat to the mill. She poured the grains into the hopper and watched as they were ground into flour.

Making Bread

Finally, she returned home with a bag of flour. "Who will help me make bread?" she asked hopefully.

The dog wagged his tail. "Making bread? Sounds like work. Not my thing," he barked.

The cat curled up on a haystack. "I'm too busy chasing mice," she meowed.

The duck flapped its wings. "I'd rather splash in the mud," he quacked.

With a sigh, the little red hen mixed the dough, shaped the loaves, and placed them in the oven to bake. As the delicious aroma filled the air, the other animals perked up.

Enjoying the Fruits of Labour

"Mmm, that smells good!" said the dog, his stomach growling.

"Yes, it does," agreed the cat, licking her lips.

The duck nodded eagerly. "Can we have some bread?"

The little red hen shook her head. "I asked for help when I needed it, but nobody wanted to help me. So I will eat this bread all by myself," she said firmly.

And with that, she enjoyed every bite of the warm, freshly baked bread, knowing she had done it all by herself.

And from that day on, the other animals learned that if you don't help with the work, you don't get to share in the rewards.

Moral of the Story

This is a valuable lesson for children as it teaches them to take responsibility for their actions and not rely on others to do their work for them.
